How do my foods arrive?

Packaging and Shelf Life

Your food will all arrive fresh, and it will not have been frozen. It will arrive in a white card box (which can be easily recycled), insulated and chilled with a specialist cool gel to keep your foods chilled in transit.

Fresh meats are vaccuum packed and have a fresh shelf life of up to 14 days.
Smoked fish is vaccuum packed and generally has a shelf life of up 21days, but this will vary by type of fish.
Fresh fish come gas flushed and should be consumed within 4 days of delivery.
Bakery goods are all fresh, and come heat sealed - shelf life varies by product but generally 7 days.
Cheeses are vacuum packed, foil wrapped or waxed, shelf life is usually at least 21 days plus.
All foods can be frozen unless otherwise stated on the label

Your food and drink selections are made up personally to order from our network of suppliers all over England. We only sell fresh foods and don't keep them in stock, therefore we can't supply you instantly, we only order from our suppliers what you order, then we deliver to your home or office on Fridays. For example, if you order fresh monkfish, Willie Little will select this personally for you from the best in catch landed that day. It will then be filleted and packaged, delivered to us here in Selkirk, packed with your other goods and shipped to you as a chilled package to arrive within 24hrs of despatch. Ordering from Albakri and Xamar Shop is EASY and CONVENIENT. It's your choice - whatever's right for you.

To order from our web site your browser settings must enable Cookies and Javascript. Parcels are delivered to your home or office on Fridays. When ordering, please specify the date on which you would like your parcel delivered.

For security reasons, unless you have already made arrangements with us, we will not accept orders by e-mail. (Please do not include your credit card details in any e-mail).

How Are My Parcels Delivered?

Your parcels will be delivered to you on a Friday. Each Thursday we ship orders to your home or office, by Businesspost, with a 24-hour delivery. If you have special delivery requirements, just let us know and we'll ensure that your parcel arrives where and when you want it. If you're going away for the weekend, for example, we can have your parcel delivered to where you're going to stay.

Parcels are made up in white board, which can be recycled, and contain non-toxic frozen gel. This gel acts as a mini-refrigerator, and keeps your foods cool in transit. Thus your food is far fresher than any (inferior) products to be found on a supermarket shelf.

You can track your parcel enroute - simply login to your account on our website and you can view exactly where the delivery van is.
